Introduction to the EWG Pray Initiative
You are invited to join.
Prayer is a vital part of our Christian journey and this page contains a few thoughts to help and encourage prayer. We are using the David Adam Book ‘The Rhythm of Life’ as a source by which anyone can join a movement of prayer for ourselves and our community. Using this book, on our own or in any other way, helps us to connect with each other and God.
We have a stock of the books which we have been giving away with a suggested donation of £8 for each one. This cost has now been fully met by a generous ongoing donation to ensure that the book is free and easily available to anybody and everybody. A copy can be requested from me, Graeme Skinner graemevicarofeden@gmail.com or 01228 561358. If you are happy to do so, would you be willing to let me know your email or address so you can join the initiative and receive future mailings about prayer. Please let me know even if you already have a book.
Each month we will take a prayer or reading from the book with some suggestions and ideas for you to ponder and prompt your own prayers.

Notes from the back of the Rhythm of Life book.
Life has its rhythms. We all need to be able to cope with its ebb as well as its flow. We have to survive its darkness as well as its light. We face dry times as well as times of richness. To survive this intricate pattern, we need to have an overriding rhythm of prayer. We need to know that whatever is happening, we are loved by God, and in him we live and move and have our being.
In the book, each day is centred around a different theme, and there are prayers for morning, midday, afternoon and night, with stunning Celtic illustrations throughout. Building on the themes of resurrection, creation, incarnation, Holy Spirit, community, the Cross, and the saints, Adam shares his ideas and prayers in the Celtic tradition.
Each book will contain a small leaflet on how the book can be used. You are welcome to connect with the book in any way, just using one series of prayers each week or every few days, to building in a more regular pattern.
