Eden Wild Goose Nature Group

Eden Wild Goose is developing a Nature Group in our community with a view to exploring, caring for and appreciating nature in our locality.

We plan to draw together a cross section of people, beginners or more experienced with interest from bugs to birds, soil to water, art to science… who would be keen to enjoy nature with others. We hope people will move from Curiosity to interest and from celebration to action.

There are many thoughts on how we might proceed with the Eden Wild Goose Nature Group, including learning to recognise birdsong, species identification, nature walks, wildflower meadow and gardening and encouraging children and family involvement.

As we begin to emerge from the Covod-19 lockdowns future events will be planned and posted on EWG Facebook and Wetheral Next Door.

At present we are working on:
A wildflower bank next to Wetheral Church on Ferry Hill.
A wildflower pollinating project in the ground on St Pauls Holme Eden.
Therapeutic gardening in different venues.
Local nature walks, focusing on birds and trees.
Wildlife camera recording for the website and Facebook.
