Focused nature survey in St Paul’s Holme Eden grounds
We have a few places left for a morning activity. ‘Finding Sanctuary Project’. An insight into our native species of amphibians and reptiles. What to look for, where to look and how to record in a survey of local burial grounds. I hope those coming can help with a survey for the following six weeks. Limited numbers. Suitable for all ages. Family Nature Day at Aglionby Wetlands’
Wednesday 25th August 9.30-11.30am

We will be visiting Aglionby Wetlands with an experienced guide who will lead us in pond dipping
and hedgerow habitats. The educational side will be focused towards school age children –  it a good place for adults to learn too. There will be extra capacity for adults who wish to explore the wetlands on their own too. This is private land so this is a real opportunity to visit a special site.

EWG Crafty Gaggle ‘Open Craft event’
Friday 20th August 7pm

We meet in Holme Eden Church.
An evening for anyone and everyone,
any age or stage, crafty or not so crafty. Come and enjoy this enjoyable taster evening. The group may start to meet regularly again in the Autumn.

EWG Nature Guided woodland trail
Saturday 11th September 10am Gelt Woods (from Gelt Bridge car park)

Learning to develop a more meaningful relationship with nature and learn about tree identification from a tree expert along with some thoughts and prompts from an experienced walk guide from ‘Mountain Pilgrims’ of Carlisle Diocese.
