Upcoming Special Events at Eden Churches!
Candlemas Evensong - 2nd February:
At 6pm on 2nd Feb, Wetheral Choir will celebrate the beautiful festival of Candlemas - the Presentation of Christ in the Temple - when Simeon and Anna, who had waited their whole lives to see the Messiah, met Christ Jesus as a baby in the Temple. With the words of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, and music by Eccard, Bairstow and Amy Beach, this candlelit service marks the end of the Christmas story.
'Can you feel the love tonight' - Concert - 8th February
Another fundraising concert will be taking place in Wetheral Church at 7pm on Saturday 8th February, with a Valentine's Day theme.
Sung by some members of Wetheral Choir and their friends, this concert will celebrate the theme of Love with a mixture of sacred and secular music.
Free entry, refreshments will be served!
Please come along, and invite all your friends!
Lent Course - 'Temptations, Repentance, Journey and Hope…' - Starts 12th March:
The Rev'd Isaac Lawrence at Scotby Cotehill and Cumwhinton Parish (SCC) are holding a series of Lent talks this March and April, and all members of Eden Churches are invited to participate! It would be lovely if a good number of our parishioners attended - perhaps a few people could car-share for some of the sessions!
If you'd like to come along, please let Isaac know as soon as possible, so he can have a rough idea of numbers, by emailing revisaac.lawrence@gmail.com
The sessions will be as follows:
'Sweet was the song the virgin sang' - Concert - 30th March
Another fundraiser, this time sung by the women of Wetheral Choir and friends, a Mother's Day concert of sacred and secular music written for upper voices.
6pm, Wetheral Church
Free entry, refreshments will be served!
Stainer's Crucifixion - Concert - Wigon - 6th April
Wetheral Choir and Wigton Choir will be joining forces to bring you the wonderful Easter cantata at Wigton Church on 6th April. More details to follow!
